The inspection verifies type of roof covering, roof-to-wall connections, braced gable ends, secondary water barriers, reinforced wall construction and openings protection. This inspection shows how well the house is prepared to handle hurricane winds. With this report ,the homeowmer might qualify for home insurance discounts.



WHO NEEDS A WIND MITIGATION INSPECTION?

  • Homebuyers. Buyers will want to have a full home inspection to determine the condition of a home they are considering for purchase. To purchase homeowners insurance and to establish what their monthly insurance payments will be, buyers will need a 4 -Point inspection, a wind mitigation inspection, and possibly a roof certification.
  • Homeowners. Most insurance companies will also request that homeowners who need to renew their policy or who want to compare rates get a 4-point inspection and a wind mitigation inspection before they will give you a bid for insurance coverage.
